Work currently being undertaken for Oxfordshire County Council

Career Counselling Services has been working with Oxfordshire County Council since November 2008 to establish a Career Coaching Service. This has involved training 24 members of staff to become career coaches, licensed to use Career Counselling Services Self Assessment Manual.  It has also included the introduction of Career and Personal Development workshops to the organisation.

Gilly and Rob have brought a wealth of skills and experience in career coaching to enable us to successfully develop a Career Coaching Service. They have played an active part in helping us to recruit colleagues to be career coaches and have provided a robust yet enjoyable training programme to equip them with the skills needed to take on this role. They continue to support us through facilitating case supervision sessions.

The career coaching service is already having a positive impact on the organisation.  Thirty people have benefited from having a one to one career coach in the first 6 months of the service.  The establishment of this service will provide a source of support for individuals through times of organisational change as well as those seeking help for specific career related issues.   It has also given colleagues the opportunity to develop additional skills and take on the role of career coach (which is in addition to their day job).  Rob and Gilly quickly established what our needs were and identified how best they could support us in achieving out project objectives.  They have been a constant source of support, advice, knowledge and encouragement throughout the project.
