Career Coaching Tools for Coaches

This practical training day will extend your coaching skill and confidence to respond to coachees bringing career-related issues to your coaching meetings

Suitable for:

• Coaches already trained, seeing clients and receiving case management supervision
• Enabling coachees to identify what they feel passionate about in their work
• Enabling coachees to know what helps them to thrive and ‘be at their best’
• Preparing coachees to be more fluent and articulate in preparing for CV and interview impact
• Identifying transferable skills and strengths with coaches.

NB This one day training is for trained and practising coaches and is not designed to enable participants to become career coaches.

Coaching contracts are often (but not always) developmental and start from a point of upbeat energy. Career coaching clients often present with dilemmas, such as:

• How do I get my confidence back after being rejected for a role I wanted/expected to get?
• How can I prepare for a forthcoming interview/application?
• I am at a career crossroads. Can you help me decide which way to go next?
• I am stagnating in my current role, but there are limited opportunities in the current economic climate. Can you help me to think through what I really want and could do, so I will be better prepared?
• My skills and interests are currently underutilised. Can you help me to think through ways of better using them in or out of work?
• I’m good at my job, but I don’t enjoy it. Can you help me explore what really motivates me?

Internal coaches are often party to similar uncertainties and pressures that their clients are experiencing, and yet must keep their own issues out of the coaching in order to provide professional and unbiased coaching.

The first step is to become clear about your own career issues and drivers. So, this training day will enable coaches to:

• discover and affirm their own career drivers and passions
• practice the skills of career coaching
• receive feedback from highly experienced career coaches
• use two powerful career coaching tools from the CCS range of exercises
• become clearer about ways to incorporate career issues into the coaching contract.
