Managing Director

Robert has been career coaching and counselling people at all stages of their career since 1978. He has led over two hundred workshops in career coaching, teambuilding and managing organisational change. He supervises the work of professional career coaches and counsellors, and is a Chartered Psychologist. Robert has co-authored the text book 'Career Counselling' ( R Nathan & L Hill, Sage, 2006) and continues to write on coaching related topics. He regularly runs workshops for professional groups, such as the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology.

Senior Career Coach

Senior career coach and trainer with CCS for 15 years, providing career coaching to managers and staff in public and private organisations. Wide experience of training over 2000 HR staff in career management skills and coaching skills, and running change management and career and personal development workshops. Supervises the work of career coaches. Consistently excellent feedback and referrals over 14 years.

Worked on successful CCS bid and won National Training Award for career coaching skills training for the BBC.

Author of CCS Networking Companion and Job Search Guide.

Gilly is a qualified coach (Solution focussed and Systemic Consultation) and counsellor.

Karin Dean

Karin joined CCS in 2006. She worked in IT and management consultancy for over 20 years before taking a career break to undertake an MSc in Organisational Psychology and is now a Chartered Occupational Psychologist. She works primarily in the areas of career counselling, executive coaching and management development, with special interests in stress management and coping with life changes. Karin holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy and is certified as an NLP trainer.


Odette Beris
Odette Beris

Odette Beris is a Chartered Psychologist, Coach and Associate at CCS. She is the Founder of EnormousYes, a coaching practice specialising in the creative and media industries. Odette has spent most of her career working within media environments including working at the BBC as an Organisational Psychologist, where she also worked as a BBC coach.

Much of her work has involved profiling candidates for jobs and for career development purposes. She has a bank of experience in designing and delivering assessment and development centres and is trained to use a wide variety of personality profiling tools. Odette has also run her own career coaching consultancy and head-hunted journalists for the publishing and new media industry.

Outside of psychology, she pursues her creative endeavours by writing and recording music, having released an EP in 2009.

Odette is energised by working in a collaborative partnership with clients to encourage them to map out and create a vision of their future path that leads to meaningful change!

Eric Decker

As an Associate of CCS, Eric has led many workshops on Career Management, Supporting Staff through Change and Team Development. He also provides Transition Coaching for senior staff moving to new roles. Eric is also an Associate of Ashridge Management College, where he works as a coach on leadership development programmes.

Eric has worked within the arena of Executive Coaching and Leadership Development for over 17 years, and is an accredited coach with Ashridge Management College. He is a Business Psychologist, and a member of the BPS Special Group in Coaching Psychology. After training in Organisational & Occupational Psychology in 1987, Eric worked for British Telecom, within their Business Psychology Group, contributing to BT's major leadership and culture change programmes. In 1992, he set up as an independent consultant adding both depth and breadth to his experience, particularly in such areas as: leadership coaching/training & personal, career, and management development.

At Ashridge, he has worked as a leadership coach on the Ashridge Leadership Process (ALP), its 'flagship' leadership development programme, for the past 11 years. In addition, he provides on-going individual coaching on a number of 'tailored' Ashridge management development programmes. His experience extends to working with all levels of managers within organisations, from junior & middle managers to the executive board. As the current Head of Coach Development for the ALP, he monitors the progress of new coaches, and organises activities for the continuous professional development of an existing team of 25 coaches. His client base stretches across sectors, organisations, and international borders.

As a Chartered Member of the British Psychological Society, Eric has certificates of Competence in Occupational Testing - Levels A & B. He is qualified and registered to use a wide range of personality tests, including the MBTI (Steps I & II), 16PF, OPQ, FIRO-B etc. and 360 degree instruments, such as PDI’s Profilor. Eric regularly provides psychometric feedback, to delegates on a range of Leadership Programmes, as well as in his capacity as a career development coach.


Cathy Brown
Cathy Brown

As a qualified career coach, Cathy works with clients to address their career questions whether this involve reinventing a new career direction or looking at ways of enhancing their current work.

As an occupational psychologist, Cathy has well over a decade of experience in business and HR consulting. Cathy has a Masters of Business Administration from the European School of Management, Paris, and has a Masters in Occupational Psychology with Birkbeck College, University of London.
She works as a business coach with the Prince's Trust to help new business start-ups. She also is a guest lecturer on the general and executive MBA programme at Nottingham University. Cathy is the founder of evolve enterprise and the designer of Testing the Water questionnaire. Together with Rob Nathan, she has developed the Testing the Water Coaching Toolkit, which has helped many people consider their suitability for self employment. Organisations using Testing the Water include the BBC, Boots, Loughborough University and Shell International.


Gillian Freedman
Seren Trewavas
MA, MSc, Dip HRM, MCIPD

Seren is a personal development specialist and Occupational Psychologist with 16 years experience in the field of learning and development within both public and private sectors in particular media and retail.  Seren brings to CCS experience in training design and delivery, workshop and event facilitation, and executive and career coaching. 

Seren’s current designations include  Head of Management Development at ITV and Programme Director at the London Business School.

Seren contributes to the CCS CPD programme for Career Counsellor and Coaches. In 2010 she has run two workshops for CCS accredited Career Coaches in Second Order Change.

Recent key assignments

  • Designed and led delivery of Just Imagine and Big Conversation sessions in Sydney, Hong Kong and Tokyo as part of BBC’s Making It Happen Initiative.
  • Designed and led Arab Leadership programme for senior figures in the Middle East.

Jean Floyed
Jean Floyed

Jean is a psychologist and psychotherapist who joined CCS in 1990, having previously worked as a consultant with Saville & Holdsworth. Co-author of the CCS Self Assesment and Job Search Guides, she has led many Career and Personal Development Workshops. In addition Jean has extensive experience of working with individuals at times of change. She is particularly interested in using creative approaches to facilitate and manage change.

Jean works on CCS training programmes aimed at Health practitioners, in particular with GP Registrars, whom she trains in ways of facilitating change in patients.



Alliance Partner

Anton Fishman
Anton Fishman

Anton Fishman is a long time alliance partner of CCS where he has contributed to several Alumni workshops over the last few years. He has 25 years experience as a strategic HR consultant working with a wide cross section of UK and international businesses such as BP, LloydsTSB, PowerGen, The AA and Ernst & Young to effect significant and lasting change through their people. A Cranfield MBA, Anton was practice leader at Hay Group in the late ‘80s establishing its McBer Management Competencies practice and then leading the Performance Management practice working with clients in the transformation of ‘Personnel’ to HR. He subsequently established and ran the successful change management consultancy Regenesis and joined the Board of Boyden Interim Management in 2006 where he supported the rapid growth of the business, now Alium Partners. Anton has recently returned to consulting co-founding strategic HR consulting firm Crowne Finch.

Alexandra Rooney
Alexandra Rooney

Alex joined CCS in 2008 and has a rather varied background. Born and raised in Vienna where she went to the Lycee Francais and took her baccalaureat she later went to Lausanne to do a degree in Hotel Management. She lived and worked in several European countries and speaks German, French and Italian fluently.

Alex has often changed direction in her professional life, always following her intuition and what life had to offer at that moment. She is a true “Lebenskuenstler” (life artist) and adapts easily to new situations. Life means constant development and we never stop learning – that concept and her love of people has brought her to CCS, where she, together with Danit, tries to organise Rob, Gilly and the other consultants and carries out the daily administrative tasks to run the operation.
